 abstract={Reflecting on the question of the contemporary condition of historical thinking, focusing on the case study of Poland, I consider the causes of the crisis of authority of the professional historian in the modern information society, in particular the lack of interaction between academic historiography and society. Against this backdrop, I propose a reflection on a possible modifica-tion of the understanding of the historian's profession for the sake of dialogue with the "ordin-ary" recipient of history.},
