In the years 1999-2000 the occurrence oferiophyoids on grasses was studied in the Wielkopolska region. 9 eriophyoid species were recognized on 29 grass species. Eriophyoids were present in 38% examined plant samples. The most often infested were Agropyron repens and Lolium perenne and the least Arrhenatherum elatius. Abacarus hystrix and Aculodes mckenziei were the dominating eriophyoid species. The intensity of occurrence varied and was related to the eriophyoid species and the host plant. Feeding of some eriophyoids species caused either matting or browning or twisting of the leaf blades.

In the years 1999-2001 occurrence of eriophyoid mites (Eriophyoidea) and spider mites (Tetranychidae) on wild grasses growing in Wielkopolska region was investigated. Seven species of eriophyoid mites and three of spider mites were found on 24 grass species. Eriophyoid mites infested 38% and spider mites 57% of all examined samples. The most frequent inhabited grass species by eriophyoid mites were Agropyron repens and Lolium perenne, while by spider mites Dactylis glomerata and Bromus mollis.

W niniejszym artykule spróbuję wskazać, czego uczą się korporacje od ruchów miejskich. W proponowanej analizie odwołam się do koncepcji rekuperacji i ducha kapitalizmu Luca Boltanskiego i Ève Chiapello. Ponadto przywołam pracę tych autorów, którzy analizowali powstanie i działalność ruchów miejskich w kontekście krytyki kapitalizmu i systemu neoliberalnego.

This study aims to determine the potential of Kebar grass extract in reducing the impact of liver damage in mice offspring ( Mus musculus) from parent exposed to carbofuran during lactation period. 42 lactation mice ( Mus musculus) used in the study were divided into seven groups, each group consisting of six mice. Carbofuran, Kebar grass extract, and vitamin C are administered orally on days 1 to 14 after birth. This group consisted of K (aquadest), P1 (carbofuran 1/4 LD50 0.0125 mg/day), P2 (carbofuran 1/8 LD50 0.00625 mg/day), P3 (Kebar grass extract 3.375 mg (0.2 ml) + carbofuran 1/4 LD50), P4 (Kebar grass extract 3.375 mg (0.2 ml) + carbofuran 1/8 LD50), P5 (vitamin C 5 mg (0.2 ml) + carbofuran 1/4 LD50), and P6 (vitamin C 5 mg (0.2 ml) + carbofuran 1/8 LD50). On the 15th day after birth, mice were sacrified and their liver taken for microscopic examination with hematoxilin and eosin staining. The scoring data were analyzed using Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney test. The result showed significant different (p<0.05) among the treatment groups. Mean of P4 in degeration is (1.13), necrosis (1.13) and inflamation (0.73), while the mean of P6 in degeneration is (2.20), necrosis (2.73) and inflamation (1.93). The conclusion of this research is giving Kebar grass extract is more effective in reducing degeneration, necrosis and inflammatory cell’s infiltration than vitamin C in in mice offspring ( Mus musculus) from parent exposed to carbofuran during lactation period.

The research on the content of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in soil and grass ( Lolium perenne L.) was carried out on samples collected in the city of Białystok, in north-eastern Poland. The test samples came from green belts in the vicinity of communication routes, differentiated in terms of the surrounding buildings and infrastructure and characterized by a different car traffic intensity. The highest total concentration of all sixteen PAHs in soil and grass samples was found near a large intersection at Nicholas Copernicus Street, one of the most important communication routes connecting two parts of the city. In the aboveground parts of the studied grass samples, benzo[a]pyrene was the most abundant, its content ranging from 53.8 μg/kg DM up to 91.7 μg/kg DM. On the other hand, in soil samples, much higher benzo[a]pyrene content was found, and the dominance of this compound was observed in almost every measurement location. Based on the obtained results, it was found that car traffic is a significant source of PAH emissions to the urban soil environment and urban greenery. The squares and green belts located along communication routes and intersections are the most exposed to pollution.

Between 2004 and 2017, multiple studies on the herbicide resistance of weeds were conducted by the Institute of Plant Protection – National Research Institute in Poland. Weed seeds, collected from fields located in various regions of Poland where herbicide use was ineffective, were used in studies conducted under greenhouse conditions. A total of 261 loose silky bent (Apera spica-venti L.) samples were found to be herbicide resistant, which translates to 52.4% of the fields under study. Nearly 50% of the analyzed samples exhibited resistance to sulfonylurea herbicides. Resistance to acetyl CoA carboxylase (ACCase) inhibitors was found in 18 fields, whereas resistance to photosystem II (PSII) inhibitors (isoproturon) was found in 12 fields. Herbicide resistance of blackgrass (Alopecurus myosuroides Huds.) occurred in 26 of the fields under study. In addition, resistance of wild oat (Avena fatua L.) to acetyl CoA carboxylase inhibitors occurred in 10 spring cereal crops. In the case of winter wheat, resistance of cornflower (Centaurea cyanus L.) to tribenuron-methyl occurred in 23 fields. Scentless chamomile (Matricaria inodora L.) and field poppy (Papaver rhoeas L.) were resistant to tribenuron-methyl in four and three fields, respectively, of winter wheat. In the case of sugar beet, three biotypes of fat hen (Chenopodium album L.) and two biotypes of redroot amaranth (Amaranthus retroflexus L.) were resistant to metamitron. Horseweed (Conyza canadensis L.), which grows on railway tracks, exhibited resistance to glyphosate. This paper reviews all studies conducted in Poland on weed resistance. Based on the results, maps of weed resistance in Poland were created.

Field experiments were conducted to determine quizalofop-Puefuryl (Pantera 040 EC) efficacy for control of couchgrass (E repensi at crop rotation peas-spring cereals. The results showed that herbicides applied at 4-8 leaf stage of E repens enhanced weed control effect. Subsequent treatments i.e. at I 0-12 leaf stage of E repens were less effective. In the following years, the yield of spring cereals depended on efficacy ofE repens control in forecrop i.e. pea. Spring cereals (wheat and barley) gave better yield when higher level ofE repens control was observed.
