Abstract

It is worth mentioning that despite of the decrease of coal generation in the energy mix, the fuel remains crucial for energy sector stabilizing the energy system and securing the energy supply in Poland as well as has a positive impact on the energy security of the European Union. The development of renewable energy will be possible with conventional energy compensating the unstable operation of renewable energy sources as climate conditions in Poland do not allow for the sustainable usage of renewable energy sources and thus, their effective utilization. The modernization of 200 MW energy generating units as well as the possible construction of 2–3 similar units will enable the stabilization of the amount of electricity in the transmission grid. The modern and modernized 200 MW energy generating units are able to maintain grid operation if needed and it will be easier to phase them out gradually as prosumer energy and energy storage technologies are being developed. Due to the held and planned general and additional generation capacity auctions for years following 2020, we are assured that despite the substantial increase of distributed generation sources in Poland’s energy mix, the electricity supply to end-users will be stable and safe.

Abstract

One of the basic processes in photogrammetry consists of identification and measurements of conjugate (homologous) points located within image overlapping. In analytical photogrammetry this process is solved manually by an observer. In digital photogrammetry this process is solved automatically by software and it is called image matching. This process has considerable importance for automation of orientation or aerial triangulation of photographs. The accuracy of image matching process influences the accuracy of determination of image orientation elements and computed point coordinates. This article presents the author's idea concerning matching of digital images with regard to correlation between neighbouring pixels. First, the problem of correlation between point co-ordinates will be examined in analytical photogrammetry, what will simplify considerations related to digital photo gram metry.

Abstract

In order to maintain and improve water quality, man has an increasing need to understand the relations among basin land use and in stream water quality. Being concerned about quality and quantity status of European waters European Union has adopted Water Framework Directive (2000/60/EU). The process of pressure and impact analyses and water status assessment is termed, in short, as “first characterisation” of water bodies. In accordance to WFD programmes of measures have to be developed by 2009. In WFD programmes existing measures for water protection directed by other EU directives such are Nitrate, Urban Waste Water, Dangerous Substances and IPPC will be further developed and new added. In the paper, we describe the first characterisation of the Slovene waters and show cross compliance of the Nitrate and Water Framework Directives in Slovenia

Abstract

the intelligence services systems of the People’s Republic of Poland and the German Democratic Republic did not develop a significant level of mutual cooperation in 1989, mainly due to the insurmountable political differences. The article discusses the problems of East German intelligence measures taken in the area of, broadly understood, ‘peaceful revolution’ in Poland. It was possible to retrace these problems through the research conducted at the Poland’s National Remembrance Institute [IPN] and the German Stasi Records Agency [BStU]. Comparative analysis of the material from both sources has made it possible to present all the forms of what was referred to as ‘cooperation’ as well as the antagonisms occurring between the security services in both countries.

Abstract

Worker absenteeism is identified as the greatest threat to not meeting the completion date of a construction project. The purpose of this paper is to quantify the impact of employee absenteeism risk on the probabilistic lead time of a construction project. Calculations of employee absenteeism risk values were performed using data from the Central Statistical Office (Big Data). Probabilistic schedules with probability density functions (Normal, Exponential, Reyleigh, Triangle, Gamma, Cauchy) with and without calculated employee absenteeism risk were prepared. Student’s t-test and MAPE analysis of mean absolute percentage errors were performed to determine differences between groups. It was found that with respect to the probability of completing the task in the range of 75 to 95% for all functions, an unacceptable MAPE error of 32.82% to 69.23% arises. Therefore, the authors postulate that the risk of worker absenteeism should be considered in every construction process when performing probabilistic scheduling, i.e., in the Building Information Modeling BIM methodology.

Abstract

The paper is dedicated to the discussion of elastic coefficients of wood. Parameters for wood presented in the literature are critically evaluated and discussed. The orthotropic mathematical model, with nine different elastic parameters, is one of the most often used models of wood. However, mathematical limitations on these parameters for the correct model are not well known. Based on these limitations, the verification of orthotropic elastic parameters for different species of wood is presented. The analysis shows that the published data are often unclear and sometimes wrong. The attempt to relate experimental results to the mean values specified in the standards is the second aspect considered in this paper. The designer, a user of these standards, should have clear information that the given parameters are specified for specific mathematical model and species of wood. This paper attempts to propose such a classification.

Abstract

I n t r o d u c t i o n: Hydronephrosis is an actual pediatric problem, affecting children in the anteand neonatal periods. Intrinsic stenosis is due to external obstruction and creates a pathophysiological basis of this urological pathology. Co-localization of ureter with a renal vasculature also could not be omitted from this point of view. Mesenchymal cells, partially telocytes, are important for local fibrosis development and hydronephrosis formation as well. In the current study, we focused on identification of telocytes in the human ureters to hypothesize their role in hydronephrosis pathophysiology.

M a t e r i a l a n d Me t h o d s: The samples were taken from 18 surgically treated patients with hydronephrosis (due to ureteral obstruction and crossing renal vessel). The control group consisted of 10 patients suffered from a non-obstructive disease of the urinary tract — predominantly renal tumors. Tissue samples from a ureter were stained for c-kit, tryptase, CD34 and PDGFRα to identify telocytes. Routine histology was performed to analyze tissue morphology, collagen deposits and mast cell’s profile.

R e s u l t s: Telocytes were detected in the ureteral wall. In patients with hydronephrosis we revealed decreasing density of telocytes, the prevalence of collagen, rise in mast cells amount and the ureteral wall thickening. In ureters with crossing renal vessels as a primary etiologic factor more telocytes have been observed in comparison with the obstructive hydronephrosis.

C o n c l u s i o n s: A declined density of telocytes accompanied hydronephrosis development. Increased number of mast cells in the ureteral wall reflects a local inflammation, while detailed observation of collagen/muscle deposits and density of telocytes reveal a difference depended on etiologic factor (obstruction or crossing vessel) in patients with hydronephrosis.

Abstract

The vegetation of the Chernihiv city sands (natural and technogenic origin) has rather high syntaxonomic diversity (17 associations and 5 initial communities) and the ruderal phytocoenoses prevail. Natural phytocenoses are represented to a small extent (Cyperetum flavescentis Koch 1926, Dichostylidi–Helochloetum alopecuroidis (Timar 1950) Pietsch 1973, Artemisia scoparia–Dianthus borbasii community, Kochietum arenariae Fijalk 1978). Synanthropic psammophytes species communities that are more resistant to anthropogenic influence, are formed under urban conditions. The ecological range of vegetation of sandy alluvia varies from xerophytic phytocoenoses in mineral-poor sand (Kochietum arenariae) to the communities, which indicate waterlogged areas with increased mineralization of water and saline bottom sediments (Typhetum laxmannii Nedulcu 1968). Itispossibletoobserve the adventization and apophization of sand vegetation, one of the indicators of which is the rupture of coenotic connections between the species of the community. These phenomena indicate that the process of synanthropization of the vegetation cover of the city keeps intensifying, and first of all, occurs in places of newly formed technogenic ecotopes.
